Those who, like us, love photography, also believe in its ability to do magic, to allow us to travel through time recreating scenes from other times. Route 66 in Texas, in the United States, seems like a perfect option to embark on a journey into the past, something that photographer Noel Kerns knew. In addition to time traveler, Noel Kerns is an excellent explorer and discoverer of magical abandoned places. With its working tools, a camera and a lighting equipment composed of artificial lights of all kinds, makes the magic happen giving a new life to those empty spaces for decades.
Today, most of the old Route 66 remains only ancient ruins of motels, gas stations, restaurants, churches and even abandoned jails haunted by numerous legends of enchantments and ghosts.
The photographic work of Noel Kerns following route 66 by Texas and synchronizing it with the lunar phases has been embodied in a book Nightwatch: Painting with Light.
