Richard Phibbs photographs celebrities for campaigns of great fashion brands full of glamour, and his photographs are part of the private collections of Bill Clinton or Francis Ford Coppola. And although he has portrayed characters as diverse as Meryl Streep, Rafael Nadal or Beyonce, what inspires him most are animals. He is a passionate advocate of animal rights and to work in his defense he collaborates with the Human Society of New York. In this relationship between partners, Phibbs does what he knows best, photographs of the abandoned animals in shelters. Now Aperture has compiled the best in a booklet that also tells the stories of each of the abandoned dogs portrayed. The goal: to find a home for them.
