The end of 2016 is approaching and the compilations of "the best of 2016" proliferate. After being photographed by Jonathan Bachman of Reuters, Leshia Evans, this protester, became a symbol of protests against police brutality and the death of Alton Sterling at the hands of agents outside the headquarters of the police department of Baton Rouge , In Louisiana. She was arrested at the protest and later released.

Photographer Daniel Berehulak photographed for more than a month in the Philippines a brutal campaign by his anti-drug president in which the police killed about 2000 people. The image shows a girl crying the death of her father who was killed without a prior trial on October 6, 2016.
