With ourphotographic memory, today we begin to review some events that are part of the History of Photography. We start with a picture taken fifty years ago and that, at the time, was considered the image of the century.
First picture of the Earth from the Moon

Robotic Lunar Orbiter 1 spacecraft was in charge of sending the first picture of our entire planet from outer space (the previous show only parts of the Earth). It was an event of such caliber at the time that NASA made lots of posters that they give as a present to everyone.

That same year, the astronaut Buzz Aldrin would pass into history as the first man to took a selfie from space. Aldrin was part of the mission Gemini 12 when he decided to take a picture to prove that astronauts could work outside the spacecraft.

At that time, he did not realize that he was being a pioneer. A consolation prize for the man who, three years later, would be overshadowed by Neil Armstrong being the second in set foot on the lunar surface. Amstrong was the one who appeared from then in the historic books as the first man on the Moon.
