The relationships between a mother and daughter are beautiful but they can also become demanding and complicated in adolescence. The photographer Rohina Hoffman was inspired by her own relationship with her daughter Maya to launch her project Mothers and Daughters, in which she delves into the journey of the girls into adulthood and how it affects the relationship with their mothers.

Starting from her relationship with her daughter, first, and those of the mothers and daughters of her friends, later, the artist focuses especially on the nuances of maternal-filial love when the girl moves from a mixture of dependency-independence to the evolution to adulthood. The photographer focuses on the changes experienced by the young women and the internal struggle of their mothers who face a constant push, and how this process affects their relationship.
