The protagonists of "I want to disappear" were, in some cases, friends of the photographer before beginning this work, in others they came in contact through a group of help for people who suffer from eating disorders. All were respected their desires of visibility or anonymity within the project although, in some cases, they were willing to tell their experience with honesty and without filters.

She definitley considers herself as not affected by this diseases anymore. Nevertheless, she regularily attends a self help group to exchange with others who are currently struggeling with eating disorders. Listening to her optimistic and strong statements often gives the other participants courage to work further towards self-appreciation and acceptance; J. is an inspirational person for many of them. She prefered to remain anonymous on the photographs. J. has a very strong connection to water, which is why we decided to have her photographs taken in a swimming bath.
